Privacy at Roofy
Roofy is designed to help people understand properties and local markets. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible while still understanding how the service is being used and where it can be improved.
What usage information Roofy records
When you use Roofy, we may record basic information about how the property search service is used.
- The postcode searched.
- Whether a postcode search succeeded or failed.
- The property report that was opened.
- The date and time of the search or report view.
This helps us understand which areas and property reports are useful, identify failed searches, improve the service and decide which features should be developed next.
What Roofy does not currently record in its analytics database
Our current Roofy usage analytics system is deliberately limited. We do not intentionally store the following information in the Roofy analytics database:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- Your raw IP address.
- Your browser user-agent string.
- Your precise device location.
Why we use this information
We use basic property-search and report-usage information to operate, understand and improve Roofy. This includes measuring which searches are useful, identifying technical problems and improving the property intelligence we provide.
Cookies and tracking
Roofy's current first-party property search analytics do not rely on advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
If we introduce additional analytics, advertising or other technologies in future, we will update this privacy information and any cookie controls where required.
Data retention
Roofy keeps usage data only for as long as it is useful for understanding, maintaining and improving the service. We will review retention periods as the service grows and update this page if our approach changes.
Property data shown on Roofy
Property information displayed on Roofy may come from public and licensed datasets, including HM Land Registry Price Paid Data. More detail about Roofy's property data and calculations is available on our About & Data page.
Your privacy rights
UK data protection law may give you rights in relation to personal information, including rights to ask about information held about you, request correction or deletion in certain circumstances, and object to certain uses of personal information.
Because Roofy's current property search analytics are designed not to identify individual users, we may not always be able to connect a specific analytics record to a particular person.
